Waxing

We love waxing – we’re really proud to be known for offering the most comfortable, virtually pain-free waxing services. We use two different types of specially formulated wax to give you the best, most comfortable result.

Hot wax – also known as peelable wax is used in combination with a soothing base oil for all sensitive areas (lips, chin, underarms & bikini). The wax shrinks as it sets forming a seal around the hair; allowing us to remove the hair without the ‘sting’ associated with traditional waxing. Hot Wax is perfect for strong hair in sensitive areas, such as the bikini.

Strip waxing is ideal for larger areas of the body with less sensitive skin such as the arms, legs, and back. This style of waxing is the most traditional, we apply the warm wax with the hair growth and remove it with a paper strip.

Waxing FAQ

What areas can be waxed?

The majority of areas of the body may be waxed: eyebrows, forehead, lip area, cheeks, chin, back, upper/lower leg, underarms, forearms, bikini line — even hair on the knuckles of fingers and toes.

How should I prepare for waxing?

Body hair should be at least 2mm long. We recommend exfoliating your skin several days before waxing but not on the day of treatment although this isn’t essential. On the day of your wax, you will want to make sure the skin on the area being waxed is moist but not greasy from oils or lotions. Dry skin, in particular on the legs can make the sensation of waxing a little more noticeable.

Does waxing hurt?

We pride ourselves on offering the most comfortable waxing experience. If it’s your first time having waxing the sensation is noticeable but over quickly. The more times you have the treatment done the lesser the sensation becomes as the hair becomes less coarse and patchier.

Why should I wax instead of shave?

When hair is shaved, within a few days, the hair can be seen at the surface of the skin and coarse stubble can be felt. Shaving commonly results in ingrown hairs, bumps, and ongoing skin irritation. When waxed, hair grows back slower, softer, and without stubble. Waxing will, over time, make hair growth finer, and hair will become less in volume, but there will always be some re-growth.

How often should I wax?

This depends on the area being waxed and how fast your hair grows. On average, every four weeks is recommended for body waxing. On average, every 3-4 weeks is recommended for facial waxing.
